Mani Monday with Essence – Last week to enter!

So today is our last Mani Monday with Essence post – boohoo! I totally enjoyed showing you guys all my favourite picks from the ever growing Essence nails range and am extremely jealous that one of you gets to win a fab Essence hamper! “Wait, what?! I wanna win a hamper too!” I hear you scream in panic and dismay. Settle down, Margaret, there’s still time to enter 🙂 Check out the rafflecopter below, for more deets, mmkay?

Right, now that all of that is out of the way, let me get right to it. This weeks Mani Monday unleashed a bit of my creative flair. And I’m not sure if it happened in a good way. My reasoning was that I wanted to see what else I could do with the awesome Essence holo striping tape and tribal nail art stickers. I mean, sure I could use the holo stripes to make a pretty, symmetrical mani or the tribal stickers to create funky looking nail art. But there had to be more. I neeeeeded more! But instead of throwing a soppy story at ya, check it out for yourself:Essence mani monday

So as you can see, I had the brilliant idea of using the stickers as a stencil of sorts. I simply applied my base coat, and once dry, my sticker “stencil” of choice. I then painted 2 coats of the Essence The Darks #18 “Happy New Green” over the sticker and carefully peeled sticker off while the paint was wet. Once that was dry, I applied my glossy top coat and ta daaaa! I’m not sure if I love or loathe or simply have no feelings for this mani. What do you think? (p.s. I’m not a fan of my pointy finger over there. Grrrr. My hand should disown it.)

Truth be told, this took about 15 minutes to do (yes, I spend my Sunday afternoons, at home, timing how long I do my nails. All for you, dear readers, all for you…) So if you consider the fact that you could literally do this while watching an episode of 7de Laan, then I would say it definitely has it’s perks.

All in all twas a fun experiment! I don’t know about you guys but I have found new friends in Essence incredible nail art ranges. They definitely get my vote!

(p.s. Don’t forget to check out my Facebook page on Monday, 5th September to see if you’re the lucky Essence winner! The winner will have 7 days to contact me for their prize.)

I’m a huge fan of the Essence nail art stickers. The gold set they released about 2 or 3 months back…..I’m obsessed with it. And so super affordable!
