Just a little “Christmas Crazy”…

Christmas crazy

I am a self professed Christmas girl. Yeah, I can get a little Christmas crazy. I mean, I even had a Christmas tree in my wedding photos. Okay, I actually got married in December… I didn’t randomly use Christmas trees as my wedding decor.

But that’s not the point. The point is that I love everything about this season! All the feels, the music, the gifts, the decor, the being togetherness, the soppy movies… It’s the most wonderful time of the year! As usual I am starting Christmas a little earlier this year. And with the Christmas crazy, I bring you gifts and more gifts! Everybody’s getting one!!! Kinda. Sorta.

But before I let you in on our fabulous Christmas giveaways, let’s chat a bit about Christmas traditions. Do you have any? We have a few (and by we, I mean me, because let’s face it, our boys are not that soppy)

As is tradish, I’m meant to be starting my Christmas music listening on the 1st December. But this year I’m itching to dive in on the 15th of November already (and what a glorious 15th it will be!) To the utter dismay of my co-workers (new job, remember?) I’m not really allowed to play music at my work station. Sigh, what a pity for them. (They haven’t really said this to me but I am sure that their hearts are bitterly disappointed that they will be missing out.)  I’ll still be plonking my mini Christmas tree on my desk though and singing some Mariah Carols (see what I did there?) under my breath, as loudly as I can! Santa Shoebox

I think that Christmas will be extra special this year because our curly girly will kinda understand the whole tree and presents concept, so that’s very exciting for me. Another kid to share my Christmas crazy with! I am looking forward to getting her some nativity story books so that we can share the birth of baby Jesus with her. And as always, we got involved with Santa Shoebox again this year. It’s a Christmas tradition that we’ve been doing for the past 6 years (I think). This year, we packed a special box for a little girl who is the same age as ours. It’s such a great way to get the kids thinking about someone other than themselves!

At home, we usually set our tree up as close to the 25th of November as possible, because one would want a whole month with your Christmas decor on display. Right? I mean, it just makes sense. Last year the boys crafted their own Christmas decor – name boxes and paper hearts. We each grabbed a heart and penned our most favorite thing about 2015 at the back of it. We’ll probably do something similar again this year, with curly girly en tow.

And then, there’s the presents and gifts! We kinda have an idea as to what we’d like to get the boys. Hubstopher and I chatted about it and we decided that their Christmas gift would also be a reward because they’ve both worked so hard at school this year. (Yeah, we’re that confident that their report cards will look good!) I’m a “books! give them a hugs and books!” kind of mother. Not the most favorite present giver, I’m guessing. Things might change, but also they might not. Muahahaha!

And as always, we make sure that we keep Jesus at the center of it all. I mean, He is the reason for the season. Our church has alot going on during the festive season. My favorites are the Carols by Candlelight event and our heartwarming Christmas morning service. So excited for these!
