Dressing the bump: Penelope & Bella {WIN!}

Penelope & BellaI love maternity clothes that are comfortable, beautiful AND able to fit after baby is born. Who has the time (and money) to buy outfits that you are only able to wear for a short season? (Okay put your hand down, Margaret Moneybags, we’re not talking to you) I had the absolute pleasure of checking out Penelope & Bella’s Winter range the other day and fell inlove! Paula is a woman after my own heart. Her PB Originals are practical and stunning – you can tell that this Eastern Cape born beauty is a mama too and that she takes the needs and comforts of her clients seriously. I also love that she designed her entire range herself. But hey, enough words, check it out for yourself:

The PB Winter Maternity Tee
These slouchy tee’s come in four fabulous colors – olive, milk white, oyster and pale grey. They are luxuriously soft and very flattering, with a fit that will compliment you after baby is born too! (In the pics below: (top) Oyster maternity tee; (bottom) Milk white maternity tee)P2

Penelope Shawl
Pair your maternity tee up with one of her chic Penelope Shawls that came in a range of trendy colors: sage green, grey and hazelnut. I love these shawls because they are so multi-functional! You could wear it with the snap fasteners done up, “poncho” style OR undone, as a neck scarf. The shawl was designed with breastfeeding mamas in mind – acting as a discreet, yet stylish, breastfeeding cover when needed! (In the pics below: (top) Olive maternity tee with Hazelnut wrap; (bottom) Pale grey maternity tee with Grey wrap)P3 P1

The PB Wrap Tee
Looking for a maternity top that grows with you? Well then you need to check out the P&B Wrap. The adjustable wrap style of this top is especially flattering, defining your shape, as you grow through out your pregnancy. It also has a beautiful v-neck and would be the perfect addition to your work wardrobe. (In the pics below: Black PB Wrap)

The PB Lounge Pants
You may have spotted me on Instagram donning my geometric print P&B lounge pants. With a fit that is super comfy around my belly area, yet not unattractively baggy, I am such a huge fan of these cuff pants! You can get them in the trendy geometric print (like mine) or in a cool snake print. (In the pics below: (top) Snake print lounge pants; (bottom) Geometric print lounge pants)

It is this very thing that made me so keen to get in front of the camera for my #dressingthebump campaign. (If you didn’t know, I tried my hand at modelling the Love My Body and Yummy Mummy clothing ranges) If you’re not sure where to start when it comes to styling your preggy shoot, look no further! Here are my fave maternity photo shoot looks and settings, to give you a boost of inspiration: (more…)

Autumn/Winter 2017 jacket trends

Autumn/Winter 2017 jacket trendsAs much as I love #dressingthebump and all the stunning maternity styles that I’ve been showcasing, I’m actually looking forward to my post-preggy days when I’ll be able to squeeze into my favorite outfits again. (Operative word being “squeeze”) I think the real score is that baby Jo will be joining us at the end of May, which means that I can start shopping for Autumn and Winter gear now! I spotted some really fab Autumn/Winter 2017 jacket trends on Superbalist – six styles in all – and I have to have one of each! From puffers to bombers, super svelte parkas and military styled coats to over-sized biker jackets and elegant faux furs, there is something for everyone. Yep, even you Margaret.
